What to Expect at Your First Visit

We understand that every person’s journey is different, and we’re here to help. Whether you're working on mobility, everyday activities, confidence around the home, or getting back into your community, we’ll meet you where you’re at — both physically and personally.

Because we come to you, your therapist can see firsthand the spaces you live and move in, which helps us tailor support that’s practical, meaningful, and suited to your lifestyle. During your first appointment, your physiotherapist or occupational therapist will carry out a comprehensive assessment to better understand your strengths, challenges, and what matters most to you. Together, we’ll set achievable goals that align with what you want to get out of therapy.

We’ll then create a personalised therapy plan — whether that includes hands-on treatment, tailored home exercise programs, equipment recommendations, or strategies to make daily life more manageable. We’ll also discuss how often you’d benefit from sessions, what supports will be most helpful, and whether referrals to other providers might be needed.

Your first session is also a great time to ask any questions — no question is too small. If you have any referral letters, reports, or NDIS documents, you're welcome to have them ready at the visit or send them to us beforehand to help us prepare.

At Therapy Right, we’re committed to delivering kind, person-centred care — right in the comfort of your home — so you can work towards your goals in a space that feels safe, familiar, and empowering.
